Hot Rocks

Kundan Bib

This one's for all the deshi girls who have to wait till wedding season to flaunt their hot rocks, and maybe the bideshi girls who want to rock some fab South Asian jewelry. This week, we try a little razzle-dazzle for a change.

This look is a fun re-interpretation of the shalwar kameez ensemble, and can be customized for any semi-formal event. We've used generic pouches and green shawls here, but you can always dig up your own favourite pashmina or Kashmiri shawl and botua and own this look. For a more western take, you can swap the leggings for dark blue skinny jeans and toss the shawl in favour of a jacket and still make this work.

There is no lying about this look. It's not an outfit you can wear wherever. It's purely a statement of elegance. Matched with that gorgeous necklace, you can find yourself turning plenty of heads. The colors compliment each other so you don't have to worry about sticking out like a sore thumb. The glamor in the accessories do just enough to keep the entire look balanced. This outfit leans more on the western-style of fashion, but it takes only a couple of elements to keep the flavors of South Asia alive.

Once again, we combine two of the season's hottest trends to bring you an item that deserves to be on the lust list anywhere. And as always, we'll dress it up to give you two completely different looks based on the same pair of shoes.

This look balances the quirky and the smart for the uber-chic working woman. The outfit creates visual interest with an unexpected silhouette and layering, and the blue accessories add a splash of colour to the neutral palette of the clothes. The look is fun enough to go from work to play during the day, and if you swap the white cardigan for a dark jacket, and the tote for a clutch in maybe the same colour, and rock a pair of smoky eyes, you can even take this outfit from daytime to evening wear. How's that for multitasking?

The look here is to simply express and explore nature's freedom and it's vibrant shades. It has a solid combination and balance between chic fashion and the 'easy-go-flow' attitude. The colors in this outfit projects the calm and comfort a confident woman should have while she's wearing those fierce pumps. It's the outfit to have to pull off the '3S Effect'. Keeping things light, this look can be worn with ease throughout the day.
